Rene G.M. van Melick

Rene earned his Master’s of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Amsterdam (including the registration as Pharmacist), the Netherlands and his PharmD in Hospital Pharmacy at the Hospital of the Free University of Amsterdam. After 10 years of experience in Hospital Healthcare (St. Lucas Hospital Amsterdam) he switched positions to the medical device related service industry. He held several management positions at KEMA and TNO in areas of medical device evaluations, the last position being Director of TNO Certification Medical.
Rene has been member of the TNO life science board for I.P. evaluations, was member of the national advisory board for Hospital safety.
He is award winner in the area of Business Development.
In 2007 he founded Bio-Photonics Holding BV and acquired with Dirkjan all shares of O2view.

Richard Meester

Richard studied computer science (1992-1996), training in computer graphics, artificial intelligence, programming languages, compiler building and design, C/C++, parallel processing, OS, Systems and computer architecture, Database systems, MS-SQL-6.5, H/W chip design. From 1996 – 1998 he worked as analyst / programmer with Chess Engineering (electronic development and S/W design for robot control) (1996 – 1998). Key qualifications: Highly skilled in S/W electronics and chip design. Strongpoint in problem solving and structured debugging. (Multi-spectral) Imaging and machine vision. High tech product marketing skills. Experienced in finding the right partners for high tech new product innovations. He has business experience since 1998 as president / CEO of Quest Innovations B.V.

Dirkjan Bakker

Dirkjan earned his Master’s of Science in Biology (cell and molecular biology and bioprocess technology) at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands and his PhD in Biomaterials at the Leiden University. His PhD project and subsequent position as Manager R&D with HC Implants B.V. included the design and development of polymeric biodegradable medical devices; from biocompatibility research up till and including clinical studies for various applications as well as manufacturing process validations. In that period Dirkjan has co-authored over 20 papers on interactions between implants and tissue and he was granted several patents.
Since its foundation in 2004 Dirkjan has been involved in all operational activities of O2view with prime responsibility for regulatory compliance of the technology and implementation of quality management systems including production planning.
